A message to our visitors - Covid 19 Update.

Unfortunately given the situation in Greater Manchester and various other areas, I am sure that for the time being the safest and most sensible policy is to stay closed . I think it unlikely now that we will be organising any gatherings in 2020, but I am hoping that from October it will be possible at least to allow a few individual visitors back in on a by appointment basis.

So, take care all of you and before too long we are going to be able to meet up again and share some memories and wine.

    Best wishes
     Andrew

Andrew reflects on the passing of a true great in motorsport.

Situated in an Industrial site in Fenton, Stoke on Trent, the Swift Gallery is home to an extensive collection of motor racing photographs. The collection offers a photographic history of international motor racing from the very earliest days just after the beginning of the twentieth century right up to the present day.

Occupying over 7,000 square feet of converted warehouse space, there are well over a thousand photographs on display as well as a large number of art prints. Within the collection  is a photograph of every winner of a World Championship Grand Prix winner. There are many pieces devoted to the history of Le Mans and other Sportscar classics including the great road racing epics the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio. Two wheel stars are not neglected and are shown in their relevant eras.

Whilst the collection is a private affair, much of the pleasure comes  from sharing it with others. During the summer months it is usually open on Thursday afternoons and at other times by appointment. We ask for a small charge of £5 for a visit purely to contribute towards upkeep.

Occasional evening events are held, details are announced on this website.

We look forward to sharing some  of motor racing’s stories with you.
