The Swift Gallery has a new home.

Following an agreement with Jonathan Palmer, we are delighted to report that The Swift Gallery is moving to Donington Hall later this year.

Since Andrew's tragic passing in May 2022, his widow Yvonne has been exploring various "legacy" opportunities for the collection. In December 2023 Jonathan Palmer visited the Gallery in Fenton and was instantly smitten, as have been so many Gallery visitors over the years.

An agreement was reached whereby MotorSport Vision would purchase the collection and re-home it within the Donington Hall Estate. Part of the collection will be displayed at Donington Hall, a magnificent Gothic Revival-style mansion house purchased by MSV in April 2021. The mansion house is currently undergoing renovation and will re-open as a 40-bedroom luxury hotel and conference facility next year. The balance of the collection will be on display in the Donington Hall Motorhouse. This building, formerly known as Hastings House, is also being refurbished and once completed, will house supercars, classic road and racing cars and motorcycles.

Palmer has pledged to make the collection available to the public, something we all know Andrew would want. Just as importantly, the collection will forever retain its "Swift" title, thereby creating a wonderful legacy in Andrew's name.

Further details to follow.

Covid -19 Gallery Strategy

Our official statement in regards to the pandemic.

Situated in an Industrial site in Fenton, Stoke on Trent, the Swift Gallery is home to an extensive collection of motor racing photographs. The collection offers a photographic history of international motor racing from the very earliest days just after the beginning of the twentieth century right up to the present day.

Occupying over 7,000 square feet of converted warehouse space, there are well over a thousand photographs on display as well as a large number of art prints. Within the collection  is a photograph of every winner of a World Championship Grand Prix winner. There are many pieces devoted to the history of Le Mans and other Sportscar classics including the great road racing epics the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio. Two wheel stars are not neglected and are shown in their relevant eras.

Whilst the collection is a private affair, much of the pleasure comes  from sharing it with others. During the summer months it is usually open on Thursday afternoons and at other times by appointment. We ask for a small charge of £5 for a visit purely to contribute towards upkeep.

Occasional evening events are held, details are announced on this website.

We look forward to sharing some  of motor racing’s stories with you.
